Technical Caracteristics

Product based on recycled asphalt obtained from the milling of existing road surfaces, combined with an organic reactivating additive and nanopolymers.

Advantages and Uses

  • Due to its strength, it is ideal for use in potholes, trenches, road repairs, urban roads, residential developments, and small-scale works.
  • Once applied and compacted, it becomes solid, achieving strength and performance comparable to traditional asphalt, with immediate reopening to traffic. It remains stable, flexible, and durable, meeting all the required characteristics for this type of pavement.
  • PAVILAND ASFALTO EN FRÍO (COLD ASPHALT) is the ideal solution for repairing deteriorated asphalt surfaces and pothole patching.
  • Thanks to its packaging format and shelf life, PAVILAND ASFALTO FRÍO is perfect for local councils, building materials warehouses , road maintenance companies, and gas and potable water maintenance services, among others.
  • It can be applied over a wide temperature range (-10°C to +50°C). After application, it becomes solid and compact, similar to conventional hot asphalt, with the advantage of cold application and a storage life of up to 2 years.
  • 100% recycled material Gives asphalt a second life.
  • Does not get machinery dirty during application or tyres after immediate reopening to traffic.
  • Does not contain emulsifiers harmful to health or the environment.
  • Low carbon footprint in its manufacturing process, as it is produced entirely cold.

Application Procedure

  • Clean the area before application. It is not necessary for the surface to be dry; the product can be applied on wet pavement.
  • Pour, loosen, open, and spread the mixture evenly. DO NOT COMPACT BY IMPACT, as the product will harden (this is  its intended behaviour).
  • Spread the mixture evenly over the entire surface to a thickness of 2.5 to 5 cm (leave approximately 20% excess material in height to get the right level  after compaction).
  • Compact from the outside towards the centre using appropriate machinery until a smooth and uniform surface is achieved.
  • If the repair thickness exceeds 5 cm, the above compaction process must be conducted in several layers.

Recommendations

  • Application temperature: between -10°C and +50°C.
  • Do not apply in thicknesses below 2.5 cm.
