Paviland® Solera R Autonivelante

Fibre-reinforced self-levelling mortar with high fluidity and rapid drying, which once hardened creates a screed with excellent flatness and high mechanical strength. Suitable for interior self-levelling applications from 5 to 50 mm in bonded screeds and from 50 to 100 mm in unbonded screeds. Once hardened, it must be covered with discontinuous floor coverings (ceramic tiles, among others). This self-levelling mortar has excellent levelling capacity, even at high thicknesses. Suitable for interior floors. Underfloor heating.

Technical Caracteristics

Product based on cement, selected aggregates, synthetic resins, fibres, and additives.

Advantages and Uses

  • Great levelling capacity.
  • Interior floors: bonded up to 50 mm and unbonded screeds for thicknesses between 50 and 100mm Suitable for underfloor heating.
  • Effortless application due to its high fluidity and excellent flatness.
  • Rapid commissioning.
  • Particularly suitable for use in cold weather conditions, where normal-drying flowing screeds require longer before being commissioned.

Suitable Substrates

  • Substrates must be resistant enough, stable, sound  and clean. Free of dust, release agents, organic products, etc.
  • Prior to the application of PAVILAND SOLERA R AUTONIVELANTE, any honeycombs and/or cracks present in the substrate must be properly repaired using right products from our Paviland or Morcemrest range.
  • Bonded screeds (thicknesses below 50 mm) on sound concrete substrates, the PAVILAND PRIMER R primer must be applied beforehand. For other types of substrates (ceramic, marble, etc.), please consult our technical department.
  • Unbonded screeds: thicknesses between 50 and 100 mm on insulating substrates, plastic membranes, or vapour barriers. For other type of substrates, please consult our Technical Department.

Application Procedure

  • Define and mark the maximum level of the screed.
  • The pouring area should be set up to prevent sections with different setting times. To achieve this, consider the available resources for the job, environmental conditions, and the mortar's open time.
  • Pre-confining pouring areas can also help create partition joints, avoiding the need for later cutting.
  • Mix the product with water (4.0 -4.5 litres per 25 kg bag) with a mechanical mixer at low speed (500 rpm approximately) until getting an homogeneous paste without lumps. The exact water dosage is particularly important to avoid product segregation, increased shrinkage, and reduction of strength.
  • Let the paste rest around 2 min.
  • For large areas, it is recommended to pump the mortar using twin-spiral mixers capable of delivering 20–40 L/min. This procedure helps to optimise installation times.
  • Spread manually using a metal levelling trowel once the primer has hardened. Then pass a nylon spiked roller of an adapted size to the thickness of the screed.
  • Respect structural joints and create perimeter and partition joints.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply the product under temperatures of 5º nor above 30º.
  • Do not apply if there is risk of frost, rain, heavy wind, or under direct sun light.
  • Do not apply outdoor.
  • Do not apply on moisten floors or at risk of having moisture.
  • Keep in mind the product's pot life when planning the tasks.
  • Use gloves and protective goggles when manipulating the product. Keep away from children. Do not add sand, cement, or any other material that may alter the original formulation.
  • Once the product has been mixed, and its resting time has elapsed, do not add any water.
  • For floors with surfaces to be covered larger than 20 m² or more than 10 linear meters, it is recommended to create expansion joints, dividing sections, with joints of about 6 mm that can be filled with PUMALASTIC MS or PU.
  • The expansion joints of the original substrate must be respected, and perimeter joints should be created.
  • The surface layer should be protected from an extremely fast drying, specially under elevated temperatures or / and heavy winds.
  • Before applying the final floor, residual moisten of the screed should be previously checked to make sure it is suitable for it
  • Paviland Solera R Self-Levelling must be protected by discontinuous coverings.
